39 - Beast Mode ft. Elizabeth Chamberlain

  • Released on October 25th, 2024

  • Directed and Edited by Srvent

Marking my 2nd official collaboration with Elizabeth Chamberlain, 'Beast Mode' is another special one. I wrote it as a test idea with Elizabeth in mind for what it would be like to make a proper musical. The back-and-forth nature of the lyrics, the story, the setting and growth, it was all a bit of an experiment but it seems to really work. More collaborations with her are impending.

38 - 10 Years

  • Released on August 13th, 2024

  • Directed and Edited by Srvent

I made this video shortly after separating with my ex-wife, though I wrote my sections before the split. It remains a painful song for me but I am grateful to have been able to make my own rendition of Nine Inch Nails' masterpiece. I had no right to re-interpret this like Johnny Cash did, but I felt like I had to. I have always loved that song.

37 - 10 Years

  • Released on June 18th, 2024

  • Directed and Edited by Srvent

This one was surprisingly difficult to film. Acting and holding my breath underwater was harder to do in practice than in theory, but thankfully I had a stellar team to help me out. About the song; I adapted lyrics to a contemporary track I wrote when I was 19 years old, then re-adapted, reproduced, and added the rap lyrics about 10 years later... Hence the track title.

36 - Dance with the Devil

  • Released on May 13th, 2024

  • Directed and Edited by Srvent

This was the music video portion, completely without context, from my short film, 'Dance with the Devil'. This sequence required me to train the actress, Elena Hlebnicova, in the choreography, which took about 18hrs across 9 days in total, in order to ensure everything was executed safely.

35 - Guilty Conscience ft. Elizabeth Chamberlain

  • Released on April 9th, 2024

  • Directed and Edited by Srvent

The hole for the grave was dug the night prior, and the day of the shoot had a sudden massive snowfall warning. If we didn't arrive to start filming for 6am as planned, we simply couldn't have shot it. Later that day that spot had over a foot of snow. Shot in Peers, AB.

34 - Look At Me

  • Released on January 3rd, 2023

  • Directed and Edited by Srvent

I trained for many sessions over many days to learn how to dance for this video, as dancing is not my forte. The most difficult part was learning how to move my hip separately from my leg in the belly dancing section. Shot entirely in Edson, AB.

33 - Atom Bomb

  • Released on November 29th, 2022

  • Directed and Edited by Srvent

For something different, I wrote a love song dedicated to my friends Kat and Kellie Axani, whose relationship and wedding served as the blueprint.

26 to 32 - 7 Songs for Life

  • Released on October 17th, 2022

  • Directed and Edited by Srvent

The direct sequel to “Her Smile”, I dove further into the post-apocalyptic story about a grief-stricken survivor, picking where I left off and introducing a new cast of characters. Put to 7 musical interpretations of Jordan B. Peterson’s rules, made popular in his books, this piece is something between a short film and a rap album.

25 - Small Stars ft. Lindsay Rendleman

  • Released on June 28th, 2022

  • Directed and Edited by Srvent

Shot entirely in and around Hinton, AB, which is both mine and Lindsay’s home town where we went to grade school together. This is our second collaboration. Fun fact: my ex-wife (Becky), and my little brother (Reid), appear in the end as cameos. They have often been camera operators for me in the past.

24 - If I Held Back

  • Released on February 15th, 2022

  • Directed and Edited by Srvent

Shot entirely in Edson, AB, between my home studio and my local Jiu Jitsu studio (Arashi-Do), this experimental performance piece marks my first music video in 8 months. The break was taken so I could level up my mixing and mastering with a proper mentorship from Loren Moore, improving the quality of my sound.

23 - Her Smile

  • Released on June 8th, 2021

  • Directed and Edited by Srvent

I tell a post-apocalyptic story about processing grief, also starring actress Halee Pierog, whom I interviewed on my podcast for Episode #22. The shooting for this video took just under a month. In my opinion, this was my most intimate and intense story I've told to date.

22 - Loser

  • Released on March 30th, 2021

  • Directed and Edited by Srvent

I confront my own worst enemy in this one—a negative mantra that’s been on repeat in my head for years. Praised by Lionsgate Films on Reddit for its attention to detail in paying homage to John Wick, this action video challenged me in everyway.

21 - Suspect ft. Lindsay Rendleman

  • Released on February 2nd, 2021

  • Directed and Edited by Srvent

Lindsay and I went to the same school until in Grade 9 when she moved away. We reconnected over a decade later and re-became good friends. Lindsay was the one who first heard ‘The Grind’, encouraging me, and she was behind the scenes in music video #15 pouring red paint on me.

20 - The Grind

  • Released on January 5th, 2021

  • Directed and Edited by Srvent

The song that started 2021, ‘The Grind’ is an honest perspective from me on the challenge it takes for me to release music. Fun fact: the dentist is played by a real dentist who was in the local area of Edson, AB—Dr. Sahib Lotey, and when he drug me down the hallway the first time I got massive rug burn.

19 - Metal ft. A-F-R-O

  • Released on September 28th, 2020

  • Directed and Edited by Srvent

Filmed on the coldest day of the year in 2020, it was stupidly cold. Also, this is the first music video of mine not to feature myself in a prominent role. The blades bend in slow motion because they’re actual spring steel—and the actors were trained medieval-style fighters.

18 - 3

  • Released on August 3rd, 2020

  • Directed and Edited by Srvent

Filmed on the top of Roche Miette in Jasper, Alberta, and released on my 30th birthday. Originally I was going to wear a shirt but it was so dirty and covered in sweat from the climb, I decided to forgo it at the last minute.

17 - The Battle Angel EP

  • Released on April 28th, 2020

  • Directed and Edited by Srvent

The Rapification of “Alita: Battle Angel” is one of my highest acclaimed videos, actually, being shared by Rosa Salazaar (the lead actress from Alita: Battle Angel) and Tom Holkenborg (the film’s composer) on social media. This video is actually 7 songs, the entire “Battle Angel” EP, but I only count it as one music video, unlike '7 Songs for Life', which has much more diverse imagery.

16 - On Purpose

  • Released on November 29th, 2019

  • Directed and Edited by Srvent

This video is special to me because it’s (so far) the only music video of a song taken from my ‘Ammunition’ EP. It was shot near Willmore Park in Edson, AB. A stray cat followed us into the woods while filming and wound up ruining several of our shots.

15 - Turn the Lights Down

  • Released on November 7th, 2019

  • Directed and Edited by Srvent

A song about pornography addiction from my first album, ‘Identity’. Although I had newer music that he wanted to put out at the time, I knew that this one had to be done justice first. The video has an updated mix and master that is superior to the album version, but still inferior to anything post 'Her Smile'.

14 - Ghost

  • Released on August 10, 2019

  • Directed and Edited by Srvent

This track marked my first (and so far only) foray into working with a producer who wasn’t myself. While I still contributed to the production, Daniel Cordero did all the heavy lifting, freeing me up to focus on the flow and make the video.

13 - Put Me In A Box

  • Released on April 26, 2019

  • Directed and Edited by Brad Tuftin

While more or less just a straight-up performance style video, the filming took a lot of precarious lighting to make use of the dark spaces. Filmed in the Landmark movie theatre in Edson, AB, same as 'The Red Room (Remix)'. The little girl’s voice on the track is my eldest daughter.

12 - Hallelujah ft. Professional Help

  • Released on December 21, 2018

  • Directed and Edited by Kevin Rosmer

This video was filmed at the Catholic Church we both attended in Hinton, AB, growing up. The entire video side of the project was us two guys having no plan but the location in the middle of night. It was also filmed the year prior to its release around Christmas time.

11 - Fear No More

  • Released on November 21st, 2018

  • Directed by Kevin Rosmer, Edited by Srvent

One of my more complex film shoots for sure, this video still holds the record for the longest time I had to spend in make-up. Filmed in Vancouver, BC, the video was shot over several days. Swinging Kevin’s $5000 camera over the edge of a 10-story building was a thrill.

10 - Perfect

  • Released on October 12th, 2018

  • Directed and Edited by Srvent

Chronicling my long residing issues with perfectionism, I decided to film the entire music video on a cell phone behind my house. It was filmed by my ex-wife and edited by me on the same day. If you look closely, you can see that one of the shots is of me in my studio editing the music video itself. How very meta of me.

9 - Drive It Like You Stole It ('The Glitch Mob' Remix)

  • Released on April 20th, 2018

  • Directed and Edited by Srvent

One of the more ridiculous videos I've ever put out, but definitely a crowd favourite. I wound up performing this track at a show in the same town it was filmed (Edson, AB), wearing the onesie on stage. During filming, many bystanders were confused, but we had fun.

8 - Everything

  • Released on February 25th, 2018

  • Directed and Edited by Srvent

Not only was this video a one-take, but because it ends with a haircut, I could literally only do one single one take. Tripod shot, simple. This was also my first foray into using a green screen, which in this case was really just a wall in my garage that I painted green behind him. Because I understood nothing about colours I had to make it B&W anyway.

7 - Little Boy ft. Adam Renard

  • Released on January 14th, 2018

  • Directed and Edited by Brad Tuftin

This video was the first project filmed in the brand new PATH building in Hinton, AB—my original home town. Just to use the built-in lighting of the stage required a trained lighting technician, which the municipality was gracious enough to grant me for free. I also went to grade school with Adam.

6 - Hope ft. Fran Minney

  • Released on November 5th, 2017

  • Directed and Edited by Brad Tuftin

Until ‘Metal ft A-F-R-O’, this song was the only track of mine to feature another artist who wrote their own lyrics. Fran Minney, the UK based artist, wound up reappearing in a sequel to this song, “Hopeless”, which is the final track from my EP, 'Ammunition'.

5 - The Red Room (Remix)

  • Released on October 1st, 2017

  • Directed and Edited by Brad Tuftin

Another one-take, this was my submission to LX Xander international remix contest, which seemed like a big deal at the time. I took 1st Place with this entry, cementing some early momentum as a lyricist. Filmed in the Landmark theatre in Edson, AB.

4 - The Passion

  • Released on August 3rd, 2017

  • Directed by Keaton Flaman, Edited by Srvent

I will be the first to admit that this single, while technically my first, is my least favourite. I like the song but while the video suffers in quality, it was an earnest attempt at the time and what I learned from it was invaluable. No knock to the crew helping me, we were all amateurs. I like keeping old projects like this online as a reminder of how far my abilities have come.

3 - Bananas

  • Released on December 1st, 2016

  • Directed and Edited by Kevin Rosmer

This was my first collaboration with friend and filmmaker Kevin Rosmer, and it’s a doozy. Filmed on Granville Street in Vancouver, BC, on the weekend of Halloween. This one put me out of my comfort zone big time, but all in the name of art.

2 - Promises

  • Released on October 12th, 2016

  • Directed and Edited by Srvent

This video is the definition of earnest. Me, my brother Reid, a friend (Ben Lagace), and two cell phones headed downtown Edmonton, AB, to make a video commemorating my 3rd wedding Anniversary.

1 - Phantom

  • Released on September 18th, 2016

  • Directed and Edited by Srvent

The video that started it all, and what was eventually reproduced, remixed, and remastered as Track 1 for my debut album, ‘Identity’. It’s incredible to see this and compare it to where I'm at now.
